I've been taking photos since I got a Kodak Brownie Holiday camera when I was about ten years old. After high school I purchased my first 35mm SLR camera and began to pursue nature photography. The natural world continued to be my primary photographic subject for quite a few years until life got busy with a young family and photography took a back seat to raising a family. I continued to shoot, but my subject matter shifted from the natural world to my family and special events.
Several years ago, after finishing my Master of Education degree, I made the decision to replace the hours I had spent studying with a renewed interest in photography. I purchased my first digital SLR camera and fell in love with photography all over again. I still love taking photos of the natural world and capturing unspoiled beauty around me but have also broadened my interests to include travel, stock and portrait photography using off camera flash which allows me to creatively change the mood of a photo without having to rely on existing light.
I've just launched a new website called Pembina Valley 360 located at pvmb360.ca. The focus of this site is to celebrate all that is good about living in the Pembina Valley. Follow me on Twitter and Instagram for updates.
